A three-day weekend festival called 'Jaipur by Nite' is going to be held to promote Jaipur as an all-year destination from August 1 to 3. The first-of-its-kind event will see the main historical monuments all decorated and illuminated in their splendour; and the famous bazaars situated within the city walls will be open till late night. Included in the entertaining itinerary are two cultural evenings showcasing live music, fashion show, sound and light show, shopping, food and drinks at the City Palace, Nahargarh Fort, Amber Fort, and others. Participants can also take part in the Teej Festival organized by the tourism department, play golf at the club or watch a polo match at the royal Rambagh Polo Ground.

The event seems targeted towards domestic tourists from Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida and nearby areas who can just drive down for a weekend break; while people from further off cities like Mumbai and Ahmedabad can fly down, taking advantage of the off-season low fares.
The carnival shows the defiance and resilience of Jaipur in the face of the recent bomb blasts that had placed the city in the news spotlight.
